The aim of the Wine Grape Production Guide for Eastern North America guide is to provide a comprehensive resource for individuals exploring or currently engaged in commercial wine grape production. The ambitious title reflects the commonality of many of the relevant production issues from northern Georgia, through the mid-Atlantic and into New England and southern Canada. The need for a publication of this scope is evident with the interest and expansion of wine industries throughout this large geographic region over the last two decades. The Guide substantially builds upon an earlier production guide (Wolf and Poling, 1995) in scope, depth and authorship. New chapters on means of reducing spray drift, irrigation technology, weed management, insect pest management and grape ripening processes have been added, while core subjects of the prior publication have been substantially revised and expanded.
